Item Description
First Church's own Melianie Salisburyis the artist who created this unique piece. Take this beautiful vase home with you to accent your favorite room in the rich green glaze accented by an intricate lid of flowers. Vase also doubles as jar with lid.
Oribe ware originated in the region of Mino in the 17th century, and features simple design motifs based on fanciful combinations of squares, rectangles and circles. The artist adds dipped or poured accents of a green flowing glaze. Oribe ware is the most identifiable for its use of a green copper glaze and bold painted surface designs, which may be based on nature, geometric patterns, or a combination of the two. It takes its name from Furuta Oribe, a tea master in 1544-1615.
