Cabin on the Green- enjoy a week in the mountains of beautiful NC
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Saluda, N.C., you can enjoy trout fishing at its best on the Green River. Stay in a cabin located adjacent to the river, a 20 foot walk to the water. The log cabin will comfortably sleep 10-12 and is completely furnished with four bedrooms (queen), three baths and a full kitchen. Loft has one queen and 2 twins. The cabin has Dish satellite televisions (so you don’t miss the game after you’ve caught all the fish that you care to). It also has a pool table and a fire pit outside by the river for relaxing. Additionally, the Biltmore House is 30 minutes away and so is Gorges State Park, known for its beautiful waterfalls and hiking trails. You can prepare your own meals or enjoy one of the many fine dining restaurants in the close area of Tryon, Hendersonville, Asheville, Flat Rock and Saluda.
The river itself is a delayed harvest (catch and release, stocked stream—Brook, Rainbow and Browns) fishing area located just one-and-a-half hours from Columbia, S.C. During the months of June, July and August, the season changes to a catch and keep, with a daily limit of seven fish.
In Hendersonville, you can purchase a three-day fishing license if you do not have a North Carolina license. There are some specific blackout periods for this package, but you’ll have a one-year time limit to choose your weekend and make arrangements with the owners. If you’re a fishing novice or an expert, you’ll enjoy the solitude of the mountains and the excitement of fishing one of North Carolina’s premiere trout streams!
