3660 on the Rise opened its doors in September 1992 by partners Russell Siu and Gale Ogawa. Four banquet rooms were added in 1999.  As the name denotes, the location of the restaurant at 3660 Waialae Avenue, on the corner of Waialae and Wilhelmina Rise, Honolulu. Even the logo has been carefully selected, itself being a map of the restaurant's location.

The atmosphere of the dining area is inviting with a feeling of warmth. Its contemporary style blends in well with the architecture of the award-winning building. A combination of marble, granite and woods instills a comfortable feeling. The glass wall dividing the kitchen from the dining room allows for excitement, but not the noise that emanates from a kitchen.

Euro-Island Cuisine. The menu reflects local flavors enhanced with the diverse cuisines of Europe and Asia. The plate presentations reflect many colors with the use of local ingredients. The flavors, a work of art to one's palate. To complement the food, an award-winning wine list with an array of offerings by the glass. Open for dinner, Tuesday-Sunday 5:30-8:30 p.m. 

In 2012, Melissa Bow, a former physical therapist, returned to Hawaii from New York and started Via Gelato, that combines all the things that she loves--food and Hawaii's culture. Via Gelato sources locally as much as possible, from Big Island milk to Madre Chocolate to Oahu-grown lilikoi, mangoes and kalo. It's part of Bow's mission to capture unique-to-Hawaii flavors, like lilikoi banana and even vanilla pikake.  And everything is made from scratch.

Bow first started out of a food truck parked in multiple areas of the island. But as word got out about her freshly made, locally inspired gems, she decided to make the 12th Avenue shop in Kaimuki her roots.  Experience Via Gelato at 1142 12th Avenue...right down the street from 3660 on the Rise, or at one of the truck locations around town.
