The Arroyo Food Co-op serves as an alternative to corporate-owned grocers in the community, offering organic, sustainably and locally sourced products along with humanely raised meats, fair trade items, and non-GMO produce.
The Arroyo Food Co-op started as a community project in late 2009, gathering together people in the Altadena and Pasadena communities who wanted a place to purchase local, sustainable, and organic foods in their neighborhood.
Today, Arroyo Food Co-op is the first community-owned grocery store in Pasadena and only the second cooperative grocery store in Los Angeles County. Completely member owned and operated, they work with local vendors and local customers to help everyone live a greener lifestyle.
From the “Free Food Garden” outside the store, to the "Refill Station" where you can refill household products, to partnerships with local vendors, Co-op members, volunteers, and supporters are helping to grow our neighborhoods.
Everyone is welcome to attend in-store workshops on topics ranging from critical environmental issues to fun activities. The Co-op is member-owned, but you don’t need to be a member to shop.
