Item Description

29x37 framed black and white painting by local artist Caryl Toth.  

This piece of art was donated by Eileen Saunby in memory of her late husband, John Saunby, who was once the President of the Board of Directors of the West Virginia Youth Symphony.

 

About the Artist:

West Virginia Artist, Caryl Toth, was educated at Marshall University. She has exhibited at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, DC; Erie Art Museum, PA; University of NC, SEWCA, Charlotte, NC; Butler Institute, OH; as well as numerous WV exhibits: Huntington Museum of Art, Sunrise Museum, and Stifel Fine Art Center, Wheeling and received awards such as the WV Juried Exhibition Governor's Award.  Caryl has exhibited with The Art Store since 1978.

"Painting is a place I go to find myself, an endless quest for my reality."  Expressing in paint, developmeing, searching, becoming, entriwined with artifacts along the path of life are characteristics of Caryl's painting.
