Item Description
A sable colored German shepherd sits against a bright red background. He's looking directly out from the tag with his mouth open in a doggy grin. His ears are alert, as if he's waiting for his owner to call him for a trip to the park or perhaps the pet store for some treats. The tag can be used as either a badge holder or luggage tag. The tag is equipped with both lanyard (for badge holder use) and small straps with buckles (for baggage tag use).
Hand tooling of leather is by first scribing a design on wet leather with a stylus. While the leather is still damp, the design is then carved into the leather with a sharp knife. Then a series of small tools are used to punch down, lift up and otherwise "sculpt" the design to give it 3-D effect. Once the leather is dry, dyes are applied to bring a life-like appearance to the design. A leather varnish is then applied to protect the work.
