Item Description
City Campus second graders examine and explore the interdependent systems involved in making a community “happy and healthy.” They study how government, hospitals, grocery stores, schools, families, and others are connected; meet with community members; and travel to locations throughout the city; then they collaborate in groups to create their own simulated communities.
The BIG FINISH: When teachers introduce problems into these simulated communities, students must grapple with the ramifications; ultimately, they begin to discover how they can effect positive change in the community.
