Item Special Note
2015 Summer Camps:
Adventures Series (Ages 3-5)
In Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn will include: Ocean Adventures, Superheroes On Stage, Fairy Tale Theater, Gruffalo and Co. Campers explore creative movement, theater games, improvisation, song and literature in our theater camp. They are taught character-driven physicality and vocal techniques by professional actors and teachers. Play is at the heart of the camp, and the childrenâÂÂÂ?ÂÂÂ?s intuitions and imaginations are encouraged at every step.
Mini Musicals Ages (Ages 4-6)
In Park Slope (at Berkeley Carroll School), in Fort Greene (at Dillon Child Study Center) and in Carroll Gardens (at Cobble Hill Ballet on Court Street). They include Under the Sea, The Wizard of Oz, Arabian Nights, Little Orphans, Alice in Wonderland, Jungle Book, Snow Queen and Beauty and the Beast. We will âÂÂÂ?ÂÂÂ?playâÂÂÂ?ÂÂÂ? with the story, music and characters from classic folktales and work on songs that are appropriate for developing voices and exciting to perform. Creative movement combined with choreography gives the students an artistic physical outlet. Theater games and artwork surrounding the characters support the childrenâÂÂÂ?ÂÂÂ?s understanding of how to create a character. Class culminates in a performance of our improvisations, songs and dances.
Players Series Sessions (ages 6-11)
In Chelsea hosted by Corlears School and in Brooklyn Heights will include: Adventures in Musical Theater, Roald Dahl on Stage and Shakespeare Players. Kids learn how to create a character from a place of instinct and play. Depending on the session they also amass skills in singing, dance, speech, improvisation and Shakespeare taught by master teachers and performers at the top of their field.
