Item Description
Sixth graders travel to Harrisburg to visit the Pennsylvania History museum, where they will make curricular connections to a variety of their classes based on the current exhibits at the museum. The second day of the trip is spent at Heifer Global Village in Maryland for a Cultural Connections program that will enable them to learn about daily life, music, food, and folklore in Guatemala. During their trip students conduct research, analyze data, and use critical analysis and writing skills to communicate their thoughts and findings from the trip. The trips also serve as opportunities to strengthen social development and are students often see them as adventures.
