Tyler Kimura, local owner of Kahala’s Great Harvest Bread Company at 4400 Kalanianaole Hwy. 7, Honolulu, celebrated his bakery’s 10^th anniversary in 2013 and continues to provide delicious whole grain products to the community. Tyler says tasting is believing, and encourages locals and visitors to stop in anytime for a free slice of bread and sweets hot-out-of-the oven.

Great Harvest’s legendary Honey Whole Wheat, High Five Fiber, and Dakota are among the featured whole grain breads. Popular specialty breads Cheddar Garlic, White Chocolate Blueberry, Cinnamon Chip (great for French toast!), and Low Carb Kauai Crunch are also on the menu. The typical sweets lineup includes Blueberry Cream Cheese Scones, Power Bars, Fruit Bars, Pumpkin Spice Bars, and Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Quickbreads.

Originally founded in 1976 in Great Falls, Montana, Great Harvest has more than 200 bakeries located throughout the nation including Alaska and Hawaii. All bakeries are locally owned and operated, and no two are alike. Great Harvest is known for handcrafted breads made with freshly ground whole wheat purchased from family-owned farms. The neighborhood bakeries create an array of legendary fresh baked breads and sweets, as well as specialty items during the holidays. Each Great Harvest mills its whole wheat daily. The fresh flour is used within two days to guarantee the best taste and nutritional value.

The Kahala Great Harvest bakery is open between 6:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sundays.
