Item Description
Two 1 hour private voice lessons
Kelli prides herself in being an experienced vocal performer, just as much as a professional vocal technician. Her goal is to teach her students the underlying principles involved in creating a memorable performance, along with a strong and healthy vocal technique. Since discovering her love of singing at the early age of 10, Kelli has trained with some of the country’s most respected and acclaimed instructors in the fields of both theater and music. Kelli holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Performance, with a Musical Theater Minor from the University of Southern California (USC). Kelli also studied in New York City, while being submersed in the Broadway community.
Currently, Kelli is an associate artist with Lamb’s Players Theater in San Diego. She began working with Lamb’s Players in 2004 as both a performer and director for their Educational Outreach Program, touring shows to elementary and junior high schools throughout Southern California. Kelli also enjoys teaching and directing at Christian Youth Theater (CYT), the same youth theater program where she discovered her own passion for theater and music. Kelli finds joy and inspiration in lending her unique expertise to support her students in reaching their individual goals. She also is the music teacher at the Village Church Preschool.
Kelli believes that students experience the most progress and enjoyment from their lessons when they are focused. Every student is different, so her goal is to help students identify their strengths and weaknesses, discover the exercises and practice strategies that work for them, and develop at a pace that is appropriate for their voice. Voice lessons can teach us a lot about our bodies, habits, short comings, and strengths. This information is valuable to us not only as singers, but in all aspects of our lives.
Learning to sing is a fascinating journey full of fun!! Kelli wants to create well-rounded singers AND performers!
Kelli is an active vocalists with various performance and recording activities. Her experience as performer helps to prepare students to be "real life" musicians - what to expect on stage, how to maintain vocal health, how to prepare for auditions/callback, and how to navigate the business side of music.
