Artist: Doyle Glass
The final price for this painting will be MATCHED, thereby doubling the donation to cancer research at Children's Medical Research Institute in Dallas.
Doyle was born in Midland, Texas in 1962. He attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, earning Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees. Doyle recognized his interest in art at an early age, but pursued a career in law until 2000. In that year, seeking to spend more time with his young son and pursue a career in art, he began to work in clay. Sculpture was an early calling and Doyle has two life-size and one monumental statue in Texas, Kentucky and Arkansas as a result.
For Doyle, art has always served a purpose. His hope is that his art will serve the greater good. The Kentucky Medal of Honor Memorial (2001) in Louisville and the Texas Medal of Honor Memorial (2006) in Midland serve to honor those servicemen and women who have gone above and beyond the call of duty for our country.
In 2012, as a result of his wife Kim's cancer diagnosis, he founded ART TO BEAT CANCER, a pair of highly impactful benefits that raise funds for cancer research at Children's Medical Research Institute in Dallas and the James Graham Brown Cancer Center in Louisville.
Doyle will be moving to Dallas with his daughter in June, 2015.
