Item Description

It's never too early to start planning for school, and Road to Admission is here to help.  This item is for 90 Minutes of College Counseling, Valued at $200.

Road to Admission, LLC is a full service independent college counseling firm owned by Peggy Koch. Peggy holds a master’s degree in education as well as a teaching credential and is a member of the Higher Education Consulting Association, the Western Association of College Admissions Counselors, and an associate member of the Independent Educational Consultant’s Association.  She does general college admissions as well as music students and music admissions. 

Peggy explains that the winning bidder can use the 90 minutes of counseling services in many areas, and just a few are:
o Student personality inventory to gain insight into best college fit and possible majors, careers
o Interview with the student and family to assess needs and determine
college preferences for best college fit
o Assessment of student transcript, course selection, test scores, extracurricular activities
o Advice for high school course selection
o Preparing comprehensive timeline for junior and senior year including college entrance testing and prep, college visits, acquiring letters of recommendation, essays, applications, and financial aid
o Standardized test planning and referrals for preparation
o Preparation for college interviews
o Guidance and editing of Common App essays, UC essays, and supplemental essays
o Review and proofreading of final applications
o Assistance with financial aid applications

Additional services for music/conservatory students may include:
o Discussion of types of programs available for students who want to study both music as well as other disciplines in college
o Discussion of double major and double degree opportunities
o Discussion of differences between BM, BA, BFA, and BS
o Help with setting up, scheduling, and taping prescreens
o Guidance with contacting appropriate music faculty to set up lessons
o Guidance with performance resume and repertoire
