Item Description

The winning bidder will receive one week of Sports Camp from Lawrence Academy during the 2015 Summer Program Session.  Winning bidder can also apply the value to the overnight camp and pay the difference directly to Lawrence Academy.

About Lawrence Academy Camps:

Lawrence Academy Sports Camps offer campers a chance to spend a week learning and enjoying skills and games that focus on a specific sport.  All of the camps include lunch, drinks, and outdoor swim and recreation time.  Sports camps are available for campers entering grades K-12th.  Lawrence Academy is located in Groton, MA and serves kids from across Massachusetts towns.

The age of participants for each camp is based on the school grade the camper will enter in the fall of 2015.

All sports camps enjoy an afternoon pool break. Chose from among the following:

All-Sport Camp:

Learn, practice, and compete in a variety of sports.  Track and field events, volleyball, relay races, tennis, swimming, soccer, basketball, badminton, street hockey, whiffle ball, flag football and many more sports will fill the day. The camp day includes pool time. This is a great camp for those who love sports and don't want to pick just one.

Session 2: June 29-July 3; Session 8: August 10-14; Entering Grades 5-8   

Baseball Camp:

Receive top-notch coaching while having an exciting week playing the great American game of baseball. Campers are divided by age and ability into teaching and playing groups. Every player participates in one game each day and has daily opportunities to hit live pitching. Drill stations emphasize basic skills; all players receive an evaluation of their progress at the end of camp. Instruction focuses on teaching the fundamentals and mental focus in a way that emphasizes fun, sportsmanship, and teamwork. A swim time daily will round out the schedule. Batter up!

Session 2: June 29-July 3 & Session 5: July 20-24; Entering Grades K-9

Basketball Camp

Basketball camp is an exciting and enjoyable opportunity for players to develop and improve their basketball skills. Campers participate in two games each day with no more than 10 players on each team. Players are grouped by age and teams are coed; girls and boys practice separately for part of each day for increased skills focus. Daily skills contests and a week-long tournament add to the camp excitement. Camp philosophy centers on players acquiring fundamentals, understanding team concepts, developing strong fundamental skills, and learning to adapt to any style of play.

Players enjoy daily swim time.

Session 3: July 6-10 & Session 4: July 13-17; Entering Grades K-9 

Boys Lacrosse Camp

This camp provides an opportunity for boys to sharpen their lacrosse skills. Each day offers an active combination of skills, instruction, drills, and game play. Campers participate in full-field games while drills focus on essential stick skills, cradling, passing, shooting, dodging, game strategy, and positioning. Daily games and competitions give campers a chance to put their skills to use.

Players enjoy daily swim time.

Session 1: June 22 - 26; Entering Grades 4-9  

Cricket 

Learn to play one of the most popular games in the world.  Cricket is exciting, easy to learn, and fun to play.  Campers are guided through all the technical areas of cricket through fun drills and activities that focus on handling the ball and the bat, bowling, fielding, and catching, as well as advanced shot-making and bowling techniques.  No experience is necessary, just a desire to learn and play the game. 

Campers will enjoy an afternoon swimming break in the Lawrence Academy pool.  All equipment will be provided.

Session 9: August 17-21: Entering Grades 4-8 

Field Hockey Camp:

This camp will offer a dynamic combination of drills, skill instruction, fitness activities, and game play to improve your field hockey game. Daily games and camp competitions give players a chance to put their skills to use and reward effort and improvement. Campers will be divided into age-appropriate ability groups for camp activities. This camp is perfect for those new to the game as well as middle school players preparing for high school field hockey. Come and learn from the best!

Players enjoy daily swim time.

Session 9: August 17-21; Entering Grades 4-9  

Flag Football/Ultimate Frisbee :

Enjoy coed flag football in the morning and ultimate Frisbee and pool time in the afternoons.  Skills and drills are combined with extensive game play throughout the day.  No equipment or previous experience is necessary. 

Session 9: August 17-21; Entering Grades 5-8   

Girls' Lacrosse Camp:

This camp provides an exciting opportunity for girls to improve and strengthen their lacrosse skills and game knowledge. Each day will offer a dynamic combination of drills, skill instruction, fitness activities, and game play. Campers are divided by age and will participate in mini- and full-field games and competitions each day. This a great camp for those new to lacrosse as well as those with experience who are looking to improve their game. Come and learn from the best!

Players also enjoy daily swim time. 

Session 7: July 29 - August 2; Entering Grades 4-9 

Soccer Camp:

This coed camp is packed with individual coaching, team play, and fun. From morning stretches to the joke-of-the-day, hard work and high spirits go hand in hand. Campers have a ball at their feet all day long. Time is devoted to building each camper¿s soccer skills and includes proper warm-up techniques, drills, games, goalkeeper training, individual ball-skill instruction, mini-games, full-field scrimmages, and indoor soccer. Pool time is offered daily.

Tents on the fields and afternoons spent in the gym working on indoor soccer skills keep campers cool on hot days.

Session 6: July 27-July 31  & Session 7: August 3-1; Entering Grades K-9  

Volleyball 

 This coed camp is designed for players who already have a foundation of volleyball skills and would like to enhance their skills and prepare for their upcoming season.  Campers will spend time independently working on specific skills, combining skills with conditioning, and improving their overall understanding of play through games.  Pool time and general conditioning will round out each day.  Bump, Set and Spike your way to an exciting and fun week of volleyball.

Campers will also enjoy daily outdoor free time and swim.

Session 10: August 19-23; Entering Grades 8-12
