Item Description
Mother Earth reminds us of our responsibility to conserve our resources and tend our garden, especially our inner one, so she is able to bring forth life in abundant forms over and over every season. Here, she stands in her hand-knit woolen dress (sometimes she is a bit tired of her trusty well-worn brown one, and sneaks into her other secret favorite colors), hand-knit shawl, doting on her creations.
California is aglow with the radiance of California Poppies!
So, this Mother Poppy is a bit more youthful in her hand-knit wool dress, hand-knit wool shawl in a chevron pattern, her skin is a flesh colored cotton knit fabric, curly mohair for hair with a bun at the neck, decorated with a crochet flower headband. She stands ~ 7" tall, on a solid wooden base covered with wool fabric, holding a beautiful felted yellow flower.
In the group picture you can see them all on their Earth Day outing; the auction item is the mother poppy only!
Item Special Note
Pick up/shipping information: At auction close, item will be available for pick up in Sebastopol, CA on the designated pick up days or it can be mailed at the winning bidder’s expense.
Items are shipped via Priority Mail Flat Rate Shipping with the United States Postal Service. This item will ship in a medium flat rate box (11” x 8 ½” x 5 ½” OR 13 5/8” x 11 7/8” x 3 3/8”). The shipping cost will be $12.55 plus the cost of insurance. Winning bidder is responsible for all fees.
If more than one item is won, we will combine shipping and make the necessary shipping cost adjustment. If the items do not fit into a Flat Rate box, the best shipping option will be chosen by the auction shipping team.
For planning, note that the pick up days are Friday, March 27, 2015 and Saturday, March 28, 2015 in Sebastopol, California. All information and details about pick up times and location will be given in the auction closing email.
