Your French Vacation begins in with three nights in Provence at the Château La Roque, a piece of history that has stood in Provence since the eighth century. Take a dip in the heated pool, stroll through the Château’s many terraced gardens or surrounding olive groves, find a hidden spot to read, contemplate the magnificent sunsets, and quench your thirst for French wine in the shade of the Mediterranean hackberry trees. You may also enjoy a round of golf (Saumane or Avignon, 18 holes, 15 minutes away), top-class river fishing (15 minutes away), walking with a guide, horseback riding (ten minutes away), looking over the Luberon from a hot-air balloon, or canoeing in the Sorgue. The friendly staff at Château La Roque will work with you to make your dream vacation.
Your French vacation continues in Paris where you will stay in a chic furnished Paris apartment in the heart of the 7th arrondissement, steps away from the Seine and with a bird’s eye view of the Eiffel Tower. This two-bedroom apartment sleeps up to three people. Wander over to Rue Tatin in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Près on the Left Bank, where internationally-recognized expert on food and an award-winning journalist/author Susan Herrman Loomis will have you dice, mince, braise, and sauté your way through French recipes in a beautifully appointed professional kitchen. At the end of lesson, enjoy the fruits of your labor with a delicious meal. Morning classes begin with a market tour. Evening classes begin with multiple tastings followed by a hands-on class and a lovely candle-lit dinner.
