It is the only remaining riverfront estate in Philadelphia open to the public.
Set amid acres of rare trees and flowering shrubs, the grounds include a formal rose garden, vineyard, and riverfront oaks that date back over 300 years. Glen Foerd is very fortunate to possess a diverse collection representing the continuous residential occupation of the mansion for over a century. The collection reflects the interests of Florence Foerderer Tonner. It includes fine paintings, prints, sculpture, antiques, tapestries, books, religious artifacts, glassware and fine decorative arts.
Tours last about one and a half hours. Please call ahead. The museum occasionally closes for private events. Individual tours can be arranged by appointment with at least 3 days notice.
