Joel Rogers, author of Watertrail, the Hidden Path through Puget Sound, printed three portraits from the Library of Congress collection of The North American Indian: Volume 10 the Kwakiutl, by Edward S. Curtis (1868-1952). J.P. Morgan had agreed to commission Curtis to produce a twenty volume overview, which was published over the years 1907 to 1930. This composition has three of the many photographs taken by Curtis during his 1910-1914 field sessions.
