Item Description
This dollhouse is a scale replica of the Villa in Tuvi, Estonia 1930. It was made for the former General Service Officer. “My husband had it made for me when we served in Estonia and thought I might enjoy the chance to keep taking care of the building.” The Villa was the residence of the U.S. Ambassador to Estonia until 2003.
The life-size Villa has historical significance. Until 1940, it was the residence of General Johan Laidoner, a seminal figure of Estonian history between the World Wars. He served as Commander-in-chief of the Estonian Army during the Estonian War of Independence. In Soviet times, a chair of the Estonian Art Institute used the house. When Estonia regained independence, it was turned into a hotel. In 1995, the villa was declared a national heritage site. In 1996 – 2003, it was leased to the U.S. Embassy.
This dollhouse would thrill any owner! With six huge rooms and furniture, there are years of endless hours of imagination. Arrange and rearrange, add your own furniture and other accessories. You have the previous owner's blessing to redecorate to your heart’s content. It would be any child’s (or child at heart’s) dream come true!
