Item Description

Dinner and drinks for two with three renowned journalists, all expert in the world of national security, espionage and criminal justice. The winners will dine with Jeremy Scahill, Peter Maass and Cora Currier, all of The Intercept, at the home of Lynn Oberlander and Gary Drevitch on a mutually agreeable weeknight evening in May or June. There will be 4 or 6 others at the dinner as well (auction winners from other schools). Jeremy Scahill is a founding editor of the online news publication The Intercept and author of Blackwater: The Rise of the World’s Most Powerful Mercenary Army and Dirty Wars. He has won numerous awards, including twice winning the George Polk Award. His film, "Dirty Wars," was nominated for an Academy Award. Peter Maass is currently a senior writer at The Intercept, a publication of First Look Media. He is the author of Crude World and Love Thy Neighbor: A Story of War, and has been published in The New York Times Magazine and The New Yorker among others. Cora Currier is a journalist with a focus on national security, foreign affairs, and human rights. As a reporting fellow at ProPublica, she covered national security and finance. Her work has been published in Stars and Stripes, The Nation, Columbia Journalism Review, Al Jazeera America, and many other outlets. Before joining ProPublica, she was on the editorial staff of The New Yorker and a lead researcher on several books of history and politics.
