Item Description
2011 Grenache, le vent sauvage qui souffle (Arroyo Seco AVA) - This easy drinking wine has aromas of dark fruit, fennel and cracked peppercorns. Cherry and simple spice flavors prevail. Naturally low in tannins, consider serving this medium bodied red wine slightly chilled (60°F) as an aperitif or pair with sardines, charcuterie, kalamata olives, porcini mushrooms, barbecue + grilled sausages & backyard picnic fare. The name refers to the fierce cooling winds that routinely blow throughout the afternoons in the renowned Arroyo Seco sub-AVA west of Greenfield in Monterey County.
151 cases produced, harvested October 19th 2011 and bottled in December 2012.
=================
Trout Gulch Vineyards is the current evolution of zeal that Père et Fils, Bernie and Gerry Turgeon
share in their dedication to producing wines of extraordinary character. Their focus is Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA but extends to include varietals and AVA’s that embody time in a bottle. Their pursuit is the expression of terroir: grapes, sun, soil, water, and air.
Producing award-winning Santa Cruz Mountains AVA Pinot Noir & Chardonnay from their mountain estate since 1987. The Turgeon Family extols the virtues of the Mountains, wines of unrestrained varietal character in the Burgundian tradition. I do not keep regular tasting room hours at the winery. However wine tasting, tours and special events may be arranged by contacting me directly. I've shared space with Equinox Methode Champenoise/Bartolo since 2006. The winery is located at 427-C Swift Street on Santa Cruz's West Side. Special Events include Santa Cruz Mountains Passport Saturdays, Vintners' Festival, Dare to Pair, Dinner Markets as well as other scheduled Surf City Vinters' events.
