CLASSROOM PROJECT – Redwood Room (Emily & Wendy’s Lower Elementary Class)

This year the Redwood Room has created a “Little Free Library”! Little Free Libraries have been featured in thousands of stories in newspapers, broadcast news, blogs, websites etc., so you might have heard of them- or even seen them in your own community, but if not the Little Free Librabry is a “take a book, return a book” gathering place where neighbors share their favorite literature and stories. In its most basic form, a Little Free Library is a box full of books where anyone may stop by and pick up a book (or two) and bring back another book to share.
The Redwood Room Little Free Library is special because the students not only painted and decorated this library, but built the final construction AND filled it with their favorite books! You could place this in front of your home, or possibly in front of your community center, playground…
This item comes with the prepaid Little Free Library registration, the mounting stand and hardware, books, AND bookmarks also designed by the Redwood Room. The Little Free Library website is incredibly informative and helpful.
