Item Description
Brothers in Pen: Six Cubic Feet. Stories from San Quentin
This anthology contains a foreword by Junot Diaz, who visited and encouraged the class. Over the past 15 years, Zoe Mullery's creative writing class at San Quentin State Prison has produced a number of anthologies of fiction and memoir. Some stories are fiction, some memoir/creative non-fiction, and some a combination. You'll find stories about rattlesnakes, Black Power, post-apocalyptic communities, prison boxing matches, one-day courtships, painful childhoods, transformation in the hood, the Lost Boys of Sudan, explorations into the source and nature of violence, dancing bears, and crucifixion, to name a very few.
