Preston of Dry Creek is an organic farm and winery located in Dry Creek Valley near the historic farm town of Healdsburg, California.The Prestons follow an assortment of practices that protect the health of the farm and its denizens, ensure the quality and uniqueness of their food products, and provide the basis of a truly sustainable farm system.

At Preston, we offer an experience that is unlike your typical wine tasting experience.  In addition to our estate-grown, organic wines, we offer many farm-fresh products that are grown and produced in small batches by the Preston family.  At our tasting room, you will be able to sample Lou's bread, our estate-grown and pressed olive oil, and our cured olives.  We also offer seasonal farm products such as organic vegetables, fruits and nuts from our gardens, you-pick strawberries, estate-laid eggs, sauerkraut, salami and a selection of local, artisinal cheeses.   These are available for purchase in our farm store which is adjacent to our tasting room.  We only offer guided tours to our wine club members, but all customers can enjoy a self-guided tour of the farm.  You can enjoy this bounty in our picnic area and when you're done, you can stroll through our organic gardens.

About the bottle of 2012 Preston Syrah-Sirah wine:  

Two of the most versatile red varietals we grow here at Preston combine to make this brilliant blend.  The 2012 vintage has a bouquet of plums, peppercorn, blackberry and an underlying smoked meat scent that implies this bottle wants to share a table with some Preston Lamb.  Moderate tannins and a sound structure will support this vintage for 5-10 years of bottle aging.

Grapes are  certified organic and our farming practices follow the tenants of Rudolph Steiner.  Fermentation is initiated spontaneously without the addition of commercial yeast or malolactic bacteria.

Item Special Note

Pick up/shipping information: At auction close, item will be available for pick up in Sebastopol, CA on the designated pick up days or it can be mailed at the winning bidder’s expense.

For planning, note that the pick up days are Friday, March 27, 2015 and Saturday, March 28, 2015 in Sebastopol, California. All information and details about pick up times and location will be given in the auction closing email.

Wine is shipped via AIM Mail Center. Here are the special notes in regards to shipping wine:

1. Actual shipping charges will be charged and mailing/shipping insurance is extra. Winning bidder is responsible for all fees. Estimated shipping for a single bottle of wine is between $17-33. Alaska is $101 and Hawaii is $54.

2. All wine requires a wine shipper in addition to any shipping and/or insurance charges. The prices for the wine shipper are as follows: a 1 bottle shipper is $4.50, a 2 bottle shipper is $6.75, a 3 bottle shipper is $7.75, a 4 bottle shipper is $9.75, and a 6 bottle shipper is $10.75.

3. Wine is shipped “adult signature required” and the delivery must be signed for, it cannot be left without a signature. There is an additional $4.95 charge for this, and it cannot be waived.

4. Wine can be shipped to the following 30 states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. If a state is not listed, state law prohibits wine from being shipped there.
