Item Description
This necklace features a sterling silver pendant filled with oxidized silver "pebbles" and an 18” oxidized neck wire, pendant is 2” long.
Jen Townsend, the artist, can exchange a 16” neck wire for the 18" if that is preferred (Artist will pay for shipping to the customer if they pay the shipping back to me for the original). Pebble Pendants are also available with a 1.7mm conflict free diamond for $310 (retail)
Care: The patina on the “pebbles” is sealed, but should be treated with care. Avoid getting lotions or perfumes on the piece to maintain the oxidized look of the pebbles. The top surfaces of the pebbles over time will get burnished silvery highlights, but typically just on the tiny highest points that take a lot of wear. This is normal and expected. They're set below the silver rims for added protection, but think of the silver highlights like the polished toes on bronze sculptures from people touching them over time… To clean the piece, a very gentle brushing with an old soft toothbrush and some lukewarm water should do the trick. The patina is sealed with wax, so avoid soaps and chemical cleaners.
Item Special Note
Shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder. Average shipping cost is $12 via Fed Ex.
About this piece and Jen Townsend
Inspired by the tiny city garden I tended from 2006-2010, this pendant is from my “Urban Garden” collection. The contrast of pathways, edges, and the manmade landscape next to the irregularity and fluidity of natural elements such as stones and plants is what inspired this series of work.
