Jewelry
Item Description
This particular piece is symbolic of the sun god. The Sun is considered as the most powerful of all Gods by many in India. Traditionally, it was believed that the sun's heat killed germs and helped cure many disesases. It brought a balance to the weather by facilitating evaporation. Too much or too little sun were both considered a bad omen. Therefore to please the Sun God and avoid his wrath there were several ceremonies and rituals. Decorating walls and other items was just one of the ways to show allegiance.
