This year's Fund-a-Need focuses on one special request from our teachers. They are very excited to get a large scale laminator!
The cost of a new laminator is about $2000. We have 111 students so . . . if each one buys a $20 share, we'll have our laminator plus a little left over for some laminating supplies!
The faculty have lots of project ideas that could be even better with a shiny coating. We polled the teachers to see what they would do if their lamination dreams came true. Here's a smattering of what they had to say within hours of our poll:
- I really liked the one at my old school! So excited for a laminator!
- Ooooooooh! We will be thrilllllllled to laminate all of our songs so we can use them year after year. This model looks like it will work great since the songs are 24". Save a tree: yippee!
- Whooo hoo! So exciting:) That model looks great to me! We will use it for signs and posters in the room so they will last longer, student work that we want to protect, and words on our word wall.
- We will also love using this to laminate songs and charts! Thank you!
- We'll use it to laminate kid-created signs around our classroom, and to laminate anchor charts we use to guide our units of study.
- We would love to laminate anchor charts, posters, class collaborations (like our CARES letters) and signs that go on the bulletin boards year after year. Woohoo! Thank you!
- Yes! A large laminator will be so helpful to have. We can laminate all of the posters, schedules, and other signs that are up around the classroom. One thing I love about laminating beyond being able to reuse signs is that you can write temporary changes with dry erase markers. For example, if I want to change a laminated schedule I can do so by crossing out subjects/events and adding new ones with a dry erase marker. Thank you!
