An accomplished and versatile actor and singer, Susan Derry is at home in a wide range of roles. For the Tony Award-winning Signature Theatre, Susan played Helen in Stephen Sondheim’s Saturday Night, Betty Schaeffer in Sunset Boulevard, and was part of the Helen Hayes Award-nominated cast of Showboat. At the Kennedy Center, she was Kathleen in the critically acclaimed revival of Ragtime; she also appeared there in revivals of Mame, Camelot, and My Fair Lady. She created the role of Lady Caroline in the new musical Enchanted April, presented at Arena Stage. Her most recent work was as Celeste #1 in Sunday In The Park With George, again for Signature Theatre.

Susan made her Broadway debut in the Tony-winning revival of Wonderful Town and played Christine in The Phantom of the Opera in Hamburg, Germany, and has the distinct honor of appearing in the Encores! Series at New York’s City Center eleven times. She starred as Desdemona in Othello, Meg in Crimes of the Heart and Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, Betty Haynes in White Christmas, Agnes in I Do! I Do! and Gwendolen in The Importance of Being Earnest. As Fiona in Brigadoon, “she is a gem – winsome acting and a voice to make you believe in magic;” and as Maria in West Side Story Susan “brings a reality, naturalness, and a dramatic intensity to every scene she enters. It is she and her performance that make you respond to the tough realities West Side Story is exposing.” Also to her credit are leading roles in Company, A Little Night Music, The Fantasticks and The Sound of Music, among others.

Susan performed in concert as a guest soloist at Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops led by Rob Fisher and the late Skitch Henderson and also as part of the Carnegie Hall’s Neighborhood Concert Series Community Sings. Her concert work includes appearances at Joe’s Pub and the Kennedy Center as well as the Signature Theatre’s Sondheim Award Gala for Jonathan Tunick; she was in the revival of Leonard Bernstein’s Mass with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra conducted by Marin Alsop, also at both Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center.

This will help you start your singing career or offer you a new enjoyable hobby. Perhaps, you'll be a Teen Angel Performer or even the next American Idol!!!
