Item Description
Two Boy Scouts will take one to five people on a hike where we will focus on wilderness survival techniques. While hiking, we will demonstrate and teach map and compass skills, how to recognize edible, poisonous, and useful plants, an numerous other survival techniques. If any of the hike participants would like Boy Scout requirements signed off on, we are happy to teach the skills and sign the requirements (if agreed to in advance). There are lots of good hiking locations in the Bay Area; we will offer descriptions and let the winner decide on the place. This student is a 9th grader at Nueva. He is a Life Rank Boy Scout (working on his Eagle Rank), Order of the Arrow member (Scouting's honor society), eight years in Boy Scouts, 50+ merit badges, five years of scouting camp, and numerous other camping experiences. The other student is also a 9th grader at Nueva. He is a First Class Boy Scout, Order of the Arrow member, three years of scouting experience, and an amateur botanist.
