Item Description

World-renowned origami artist and author Peter Engel, and father of Bay School student Gabriel '16, has exhibited his work at the Asian Art Museum, the de Young Museum, Bolinas Art Museum, Palo Alto Research Center, and numerous other museums and galleries in the U.S. and Japan. Peter believes that origami helped him to develop the three-dimensional spatial sensibility and skills that led him to a career in architecture. Origami Odyssey, Peter's newest book, has been acclaimed by scientists, artists, and curators from the American Museum of Natural History, the Asian Art Museum, and the Exploratorium. It includes an instructional DVD designed and produced by his son Gabriel. Peter will customize his 1.5 hour lesson to the age and experience of the group.
