Item Description
Is There a Rembrandt in My Wine Glass? A Progressive Art History Presentation, Food and Wine Pairing
Let us entertain your eye, mind and palate with a multimedia art history presentation by art history lecturer Kirsten Shilakes with signature appetizers prepared by Celebrity Chef and Burke’s Dad Joey Altman, and wine pairings at the San Francisco Sea Cliff residence of Lisa and John Hockin.
True masters of the visual arts have the capacity to turn our world upside down and force us to look at the world from multiple perspectives. In the same manner, Is There a Rembrandt in My Wine Glass? will take you on a gastronomic journey by sampling the visual and culinary arts from surprising and unexpected angles.
Watch masterpieces of art ranging from Rothko, to Rauschenberg and Rembrandt unfold before you in a multimedia presentation, as Kirsten Shilakes, art history educator (and Burke’s mom) synchronizes five wine tastings with art vignettes that capture the essence of an era, an historical flavor, or art historical concept. Throughout the evening, you will mix and mingle with Burke’s friends and sip and nosh on heavy appetizers that will summon all of your senses. The wine tasting will be led by Sommelier Angela Camacho of Wine Unleashed, a personalized sommelier service in San Francisco.
