Item Description

Nesetled in a redwood forest, this private entrance room has a queen bed and 1/2 bath, and is the perfect retreat for wine country access and Occidental biking and hiking. The room is steps away from an outside hot tub, deck, and creek. There is a shower available in the main house.

Free wi-fi and no television or cell service. Easy access parking. We are city dwellers who moved to the country so we could plant a garden and raise our child.

Things are quiet here. Birds, foxes and rabbits also share the property. We don't have any visible neighbors, and are surrounded by trees. Our driveway is 1/3 of a mile long, and we often take walks up it to visit the neighbor's horses.

We are close to Occidental (10 min), which has a few restaurants, two markets and a couple of shops. We are also close to Sebastopol and Sonoma County wine growers and wineries (18 min). Also nearby are Bodega (8 min) and Bodega Bay (18 min). Bodega is the town where The Birds was filmed, a great coffee shop and the local tavern, The Casino (not really a casino, just a bar that serves good food every night from Chef Mark Malicki). And Bodega Bay has great whale watching, beaches, and hiking. Oh yeah, and we are about 20 min from Hog Island Oyster Co in Tomales. We love to buy a bag of Oysters and shuck 'em on our deck.

On the weekends, the road we live on is filled with road bikers. They've found the little-trafficked roads with hills and beautiful scenery to be good places to ride.
