Item Description
A recent wave of research has shown that much of learning is dependent on what we call the executive functions: working memory, cognitive inhibition, and sustained attention. One large study showed that executive functions measured at age 8 predicted health, wealth, and incarceration rates 25 years later. In this seminar, participants will examine what executive functions are as well as how to train the brain to improve them. Recent research shows that video games – in particular first-person shooter games – make good use of the brain’s natural learning mechanisms. Age: 10+. This is for a group of up to 6, any combination of kids and adults.
