Lady Leah, an Ohio native, grew up in a home filled with music. Her father was the Music Minister in their local church. Her mother, also a vocalist, exposed her to the sounds of Billie Holiday, Nancy Wilson, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, and so many more of the Greats.
Lady Leah began her professional singing career in New York City, performing at the Red Rooster, a famous Harlem hot spot, Lenox Lounge, The Shrine, Sugar Bar, The Metropolitan Room, and other Manhattan venues.
Leah was recently featured in the NY Times article “Jazz Sessions That Evoke an Earlier Era.” Leah’s clear alto is well suited to her Jazz/R&B/Blues repertoire. Her stage presence is captivating. Music is her life long passion.
