Item Description

Vintage Maple Lifeguard Chair Floor Lamp with Umbrella Canvas Lampshade

From a vision to the workshop, this handcrafted lifeguard chair floor lamp comes to us designed and constructed by Don McGee, alumnus from Crespi’s first graduating Class of 1963. The piece features maple wood from the wreckage of the former school library for the construction of the Technology and Resource Center. The chair has been constructed with all fasteners countersunk and covered, with a clear veneer overall to accent the natural maple fibers. The brass lamppost is semi-adjustable and houses an energy-efficient LED light perfect for any room. The lampshade is framed and shaped out of curved maple and draped with canvas material, with exterior imagery of swimmers. The final touches of craftsmanship include a “Crespi Aquatics” engraving and a replica lifesaver mounted on the side.
