Item Description

Boris Eifman’s ballet, Rodin, is dedicated to the life and creative work of the great sculptor Auguste Rodin and his apprentice, lover and muse, Camille Claudel. Rodin is a massive artistic utterance about the tragic nature of the lives of geniuses. Eifman presents a new conception of the world of human passions studied masterfully by Rodin and Claudel in their works, and also creates a masterpiece dedicated to the incomprehensible mystery of the creative process.

Boris Eifman’s desire to draw his spectators into the inexhaustible world of human passions, to establish live spiritual connections with the audience, to stun it with brilliance and dynamism of plastic language – all this determined the success that accompanies the theatre’s performances on the leading stage venues of the world for decades.

The Los Angeles Times has called Eifman's creations "theatrical, visionary works that delve into characters' lives in the most exciting, probing, titillating, and wondrous ways."
