Class Descriptions:

$5 CASH ONLY Vinyasa - Community Class. This is a vigorous yoga class that moves through poses with the pace of your breath. The class is designed for all levels with modifications offered to take the class at your own level and ability on any given day. The sequence of each class will build towards a challenging a peak pose(s) to stimulate both the beginner and advanced practitioner as well as the kid at heart. This class will be sweaty and fun and will challenge students of all levels. (Class cards and credit cards not valid)

This class is designed for those who wish to take their yoga practice a little bit deeper. Perhaps this means taking the time for breathwork, chanting, and meditation, in addition to an asana or posture-based practice. Perhaps it means giving yourself a complete practice that begins to work on the higher levels or limbs of yoga. By giving yourself the space for a fuller practice and having the opportunity to ask questions and receive answers, this class is designed to be a platform for your next level, whatever that may be. In each Complete Practice class, Kate will offer a full asana practice (between 60 and 90 minutes), along with some of the more subtle practices, including pranayama (breath control), and the occasional Kundalini meditation or chant. The theme of the class will vary from week to week, and might fluctuate from something very physical—such as a class focusing on mula bandha (the pelvic floor)—to something more esoteric, like creating an attitude of gratitude.

Note: This class has no prerequisite—everyone from new practitioners to teachers is welcome. What counts is your willingness to show up, both for yourself and for class. Kate looks forward to cultivating ongoing relationships with her students and serving them in whatever way she is able.

Core Flow will restore and strengthen all muscles in the core. The class is suitable for all levels and will consist of breath work to engage deep abdominal muscles, yoga poses linked to breath which activate and condition the core, as well as deep stretching and strengthening of the muscles that work closely together with the core to achieve maximal benefit.

New to yoga, or looking to get back to the basics? Yoga FUNdamentals provides both the beginning student and the seasoned practitioner a place to focus on common postures and transitions, that lay the foundation for Hatha yoga. Classes will focus on alignment and will include imaginative strength building exercises to prepare the muscles for the intensity of the major yoga asanas included in a vinyasa flow class. Expect clear instruction and individual assistance, as well as music to keep the environment light and playful. You don't need to be able to touch your toes in this class… all you need is an open mind & heart.

Flow and Restore combines the best of Vinyasa and restorative yoga, resulting in a practice that will leave you simultaneously peaceful and renewed. This class begins with a grounding lunar flow to unwind the body and build heat in the muscles and ends with a restorative sequence with a deliciously long savasana, thus preparing the body and mind for a night of good sleep. Whether you are recharging for the week ahead or looking for a mid-week break, you do not want to miss this!

Forrest Yoga is a deep, inspiring practice that integrates different styles of yoga to build strength, gain flexibility, and awaken the core. Its intent is to create a sense of liberation in one's body, along with a powerful sense of self. Forrest Yoga emphasizes: activating the core to become strong and centered; intentional and focused breathing to oxygenate the body and engage the senses; and creative and intelligent asana sequencing to invigorate the body and nourish the spirit. All bodies and all levels are welcome. This class is heated to 80-85 degrees.

Foundations of Forrest both prepares new yoga practitioners for an all-levels Forrest yoga class and is ideal for the practitioner in need of a slower-paced class to aid in healing injuries and reducing chronic pain. Through careful, intelligent sequencing, this class offers tools for releasing tension in the neck and shoulders, building core strength to relieve back pain, and generating an overall sense of well-being and self-awareness. The attention paid to breath and sensation will leave you feeling energized, focused, calm, and renewed.

Gentle Yoga is designed for those who prefer a class less vigorous than Vinyasa. It includes gentle stretches and breathing as well as simple movements designed to systematically increase the range of motion of every major joint and increase energy. The class also incorporates low intensity standing postures to improve the health of muscle tissues and bones. This class is ideal for students with chronic symptoms such as muscle/joint pain, stiffness, weakness, or fatigue.

TriUne Yoga is the unification of ballet, pilates and yoga asana, all in one. It integrates the flowing transitional movements and attention to detail and alignment found in ballet with the athleticism of fitness and the core focus found in Pilates, all captured within the framework of yoga asana and breath. It is the unique union of the underlying Truth found in all classical physical disciplines. Just as we are three part beings, Spirit, Soul and Body, so does TriUne mirror that three part reality. As it is in the natural so it is in the spiritual.

This invigorating, all-levels Vinyasa flow is set to loud, upbeat music ranging from hip-hop to deep house. Held in a heated room, the sequences will work into deeper back bends, inversions, and arm balances. Yin Yoga is a quiet, meditative practice that uses long-held passive poses to enhance and renew the body’s vital energy, prevent joint rigidity and immobility, and nourish the body at the cellular level. Yin aids with digestion, muscle repair, organ detoxification and emotional processing. The long held postures allow the connective tissue (ligaments, tendons, joints, and fascia) to strengthen, and with a consistent practice you will notice postural improvement, increased ease in movement and an overall balanced being. This is the perfect complimentary practice to any strength building or cardio exercise as well as an active Yang or vinyasa practice. It is also great for anyone recovering from injury or illness and pre or post -natal. Please note that this class is held at room temperature to increase the effectiveness of the practice - socks are welcome.

Looking to take your training to the next level? In this yoga class designed for athletes you will learn useful tools to further your training and compliment your existing athletic endeavors. We will use yoga to improve strength, flexibility, range of motion, mindfulness and determination, resulting in better performance in your sport pursuits, a cleared mind and an overall transformation in how you can use yoga as a tool to provide success everywhere else in your training, and in life.
