Item Description
A 750ml bottle of Les Forts de Latour 2000.
Les Forts de Latour receives as meticulous care as the Grand Vin, both in the vineyeard and in the winery. The only notable difference, apart from the origin of the grapes, is the proportion of new barrels (50%) used in the maturing stage. The proportions of the grape varieties in the wine vary from one year to the next but there is always a higher proportion of Merlot (25-30%) compared to the Grand Vin.
James Suckling - "Some call it the second wine of the great first growth of Latour. But it’s a unique wine on its own. It shows blueberry, raspberry and other dark-berry character. It’s so round and delicious, why wait?"
Wine Spectator - "Super enticing aromas of crushed raspberries, Indian spices and hints of vanilla. Full-bodied, with a refined and tight tannin structure and a long, refreshing finish. A beauty. Best Les Forts in years."
