Led by Professor Jane Holzka, enjoy a historical and thought provoking walking tour focusing on the African American past in downtown Manhattan.
The walking tour takes 90 minutes, and starts at the slave graveyard and ends at the South Street Seaport. The tour will emphasize the history of the slave rebellions and the daily lives of slaves in 18th century New York. Holzka teaches urban studies and African American history at LaGuardia Community College.
