One full day of in-home caregiver training by a SeedlingsGroup Educator.
Seedlings Group caregivers are trained in a proactive, positive way to respect the important job of caregivers and empower them with better skills and understanding of child development and family systems. Just as parents find quality information about development and effective parenting strategies helpful, caregivers benefit similarly by having access to high quality materials and information.
An important aspect of this program is that SeedlingsGroup is able to spend time in your home getting to know your family and caregiver. Understanding your expectations, a child's temperament, the caregiver's personality, and household schedules and routines allows them to provide accurate feedback and customize suggested approaches and activities.
Topics and Services often provided include:
-Addressing specific challenges (sleep, eating, tantrums, etc.) and effective ways to handle them.
-Sleep support.
-Modeling care and interactions for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
-Providing suggestions for activities to nurture gross and fine motor skills.
-Teaching language most effective for instilling confidence, kindness, persistence and self control.
-Troubleshooting for difficulty with transitions.
-Creating support materials such as reward systems, charts, visual cues, etc.
-Teaching and modeling positive discipline.
-Suggest (can also purchase) developmentally appropriate toys, books, and activities.
-Educate caregivers on effectively supporting language development (including bilingual approach).
-Teach language for age appropriate answers to tricky questions.
-Playdate ideas and support.
-Help create a system that facilitates effective communication between caregiver and family.
-Translate needs of family to caregiver in a sensitive and positive way.
