Item Description
Don't miss the opportunity to own this one-of-a-kind watercolor from artist Carol Carpenter!
Carol has been a professional artist for over 30 years, and she is a current Manzano Day School Grandparent! She is basically self-taught, but comes from a family of painters. “My grandmother was an artist and studied with Ben Turner and Carl Von Hassler in the 1930's in Albuquerque. I grew up with an interest in the Southwest.”
Carol was born in Wichita, Kansas and was raised in the small town of Belle Plaine. She developed an early interest in the arts due to the inspiration she received from her mother, Julia Henry Nessly, who worked in watercolors, pastels and mosaics. Her mother took Carol with her to painting classes where she got a first hand look at how artists approached life drawing and landscapes. Carol attended Foothill College in Los Altos, California and graduated from The University of New Mexico.
