Emily's Café & Catering was established in the spring of 2004 by James and Emily Matticoli. James, executive chef/owner, graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and then worked at Top of the World Restaurant in Breckenridge, Colorado. He went on to study and work in Italy, spending time cooking in highly Michelin-rated restaurants in Torino and Senegalia. Following his training and experience in Italy, Jim worked as a sous chef at a Princeton area restaurant where he spent six years before opening Emily's Café & Catering.
Emily is the fourth generation of restaurateurs in her family. She graduated from The Institute of Culinary Education in Manhattan. During school and following graduation, she worked at the highly Zagat-rated restaurant Eleven Madison Park in New York City, as well as for a well known catering company in the city. Following her New York experiences, Emily worked at a Princeton area restaurant for two years before opening her café. Emily is following in the footsteps of her father, grandfather and great grandfather, who owned Andres Catering in New York City.
