Item Description

At SEW, workshops include a series of structured projects such as skirts, pjs, summer dresses, bags, and pillows, to name just a few.  Students are introduced to the design process - sketching, visualizing, cutting patterns, sewing and fitting the garment. Lessons are taught by Connie Walkershaw of Walkershaw Clothing, a professional designer for over 25 years. Classes are small and recommended for ages seven and up. The shop is conveniently located in West Portal and showcases Connie's collections of contemporary classics with vintage flair designed for men, women, and children.

Take home an adorable Michley Sewing Basket with a 41-piece sewing kit that includes 16 thread spools, 16 metal bobbins, 1 measuring tape, 5 needles, 1 seam ripper, 1 thimble and 1 needle threader. The removable plastic tray provides expansive storage for miscellaneous items such as spools, measuring tapes, and thimbles. There is plenty of space below the plastic tray for storing patterns, fabric scraps, and garments in progress.

This package also includes a Singer tape measure and marking pencil combo (1 blue, 1 white), and My First Sewing Machine Book:  Learn to Sew by Alison McNichol (2010) which contains bright, clear illustrations to get kids started on fun, easy projects such as tote bags, cushions, i-pod holders, zip cases and more.
