The best mesh duffel bag you'll ever own, that is what the K.A. XXL Mesh Duffel bag is. Duffel bags are great for hauling kayak gear from the parking lot to the water, and we recommend storing your camping gear in a mesh duffel bag between trips so it will all be in one place when you need it next. Mesh lets gear air out (just don't put it away soaking wet) and mesh makes it easy to see what's in the bag when doing your last minute gear check. Mesh on the bottom would snag on things and let dirt into the bag, so the bottom and ends are solid Cordura® which has amazing abrasion resistance. Our Duffel comes standard with an internal pocket with hook and loop closure on one end for your wallet, cell phone, sunscreen etc. that you want to keep separate from the rest of the gear for quick access.
Having used a lot of duffel bags over the years, we found two main problems with all the others are that they're too small to do the job, and they have zippers that corrode and break. So we designed our own XXL KA Mesh Duffel Bag to be the biggest and most durable duffel bag ever made for kayaking and rafting. It's big enough to hold all your camping gear for a month long expedition or a trip down the Grand Canyon.
The KA Mesh Duffel Bag is one of the biggest duffel bags ever made (18" Dia. x 35" Long when stuffed). In fact if it were any bigger and you wouldn't be able to carry it with dragging the ends on the ground. Our Duffel features a huge #10 non-corroding plastic-toothed zipper and fly, heavy duty mesh top, webbing for the handles that goes all the way around the bottom of the bag for extra reinforcement, super heavy mesh on the top side (to allow things to dry out), and Cordura® on the bottom so you can drag it through airports etc. The Cordura bottom also helps keep grass from getting in your gear and it makes a good changing platform to stand on. The zipper is so big and strong that we've never had one break. There are metal "D" rings on the ends for attaching the clip-on padded shoulder strap (shoulder strap IS included). We use the detachable shoulder strap feature when flying with the duffel because it is best to unclip the shoulder strap and stow it inside the bag so it won't get hung up on the baggage conveyor system.
