Item Description
Gold and sterling silver 16" necklace with matching earrings. This set is sterling silver finely touched with gold, accented with a sparkling center!
Handmade by Shelle Kahl using a process called reticulation. Reticulation is a torch-created texture which is achieved by repeated heating and cooling of sterling silver sheet metal. During the process, much of the copper alloy is burned away from the surface, leaving a lower melting temperature inside the sheet. This differential allows for melting the inner layer without breaking the surface tension, thus creating amazing ripple-like textures on the surface. This is the "canvas" for each design, which is then individually hand-shaped and edged in 14K gold.
My jewelry is a gift I share with those that are searching for something different in themselves. By wearing it, I hope that it makes them feel like stepping outside of the box more often and listening to what's truly inside of their heart.
