2012 Grand Wren - Etched
Seductively enticing, this complex wine awakens the senses with beautifully focused aromas of Madagascar vanilla and fresh croissant. On the palate, this big and powerful wine has great structural balance with opulent flavors of blackberries, vanilla and black cherry pie.
2011 Renwood Nicefora Zinfandel, Amador County
The 2011 Niceforo might just have the most concentrated and complex nose of the vintage. Aromas of Puff pastry drizzled with blackberry apricot sauce are underscored by hints of vanilla and cedar. An intensely vibrant and fresh wine, it dances across the palate skirting the line between bright red fruit and melt-in-your-mouth Christmas chocolates.
2012 Renwood Zinfandel Musician's, Jack Rabbit Flat Vineyard, Amador County
WINEMAKER’S NOTES Entirely complex, this 100 year old vineyard continues to produce exceptionally flavorful wines. On the nose, scents of pistachios, black cherries and cocoa. The aromatics gracefully flow into flavors of bright red raspberries and dried herbs. Bold and soft, this is a beautiful example of Amador County Zinfandel. Drink December 2014 - 2019.
2011 Renwood Zinfandel, Flautist, Amador County
WINEMAKER’S NOTES Another remarkable vintage for our highly acclaimed Flutist. Bursting with concentrated aromas of blueberry cinnamon pastries, this wine is ever evolving as it gathers air in the glass. You’ll also find hints of vanilla and graham crackers if you look closely. Silky on the entry, the wine gathers steam weaving its way to an almost orange zest and tangerine marmalade at the mid palate through to the finish.
2011 Renwood Zinfandel, Merida, Amador County
WINEMAKER’S NOTES A brooding and powerful zinfandel with a color of bing cherries tinged with mahogany. On the nose the aromas of clover honey, marzipan and cassava lead into sweeter, darker fruits. With the first sip you see mature, dark blue fruit flavors reminiscent of sun-warmed blueberries. The blueberry fruit continues through the mid-palette, but finishes with dark cherries and grated nutmeg. This solid wine begs for time in the cellar, but is very able to please now.
2011 Renwood Zinfandel, Bewicks, Amador County
WINEMAKER’S NOTES Somewhat of a contrast, this wine is masculine but has a color like red velvet cake. The nose has classic Amador dust, with caramel apple, red fruits and hints of cinnamon bark. The bold flavors start with the chalky entry, then charges straight into flavors of cherry and raspberry, which are buoyed up by refined tannins. The finish is expansive, and ends with exotic notes of cola and ginger. This distinctive wine always keeps you guessing; just when you think the flavors are set, something new brings you back to the glass.
