Item Description

Japanese pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii will perform a recital in WEILL HALL at the GREEN MUSIC CENTER on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. His concert will feature works by Chopin, Liszt and Beethoven.

Blind from birth, the 25-year-old Tsuji rose to immediate prominence as the joint Gold Medal winner of the 2009 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. Van Cliburn himself told The Fort Worth Star-Telegram that Tsujii was “absolutely miraculous — his performance had the power of a healing service." An inspirational musician with formidable technique and a natural gift for pianistic color, Tsujii has earned international recognition in recent years for the excitement of his live performances.
