Item Description
Winner’s choice of one (1) of the following original woodcuts by Karen Pellaton (1939-2009): "Dreaming Girl," 1977, woodcut in olive green ink on paper, 6 x 8 inches; "Birds," 1981, woodcut in gray ink on paper, 8 x 6 inches; "Girl in Village," 1975, woodcut in red ink on paper, 12 x 8 inches; "Girl in Village," 1975, woodcut in blackish-brown ink on paper, 12 x 8 inches.
A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Pellaton illustrated over thirty-five books and filmstrips for children. She settled in Ossining and worked as an illustrator and designer locally, illustrating the Ossining School District Calendar for years in the 1980s and also producing countless designs for the Ossining PTA. These charming and fanciful woodcuts were her original designs she created as Christmas cards for family and friends.
Winner is able to choose one of the presented woodcuts.
Item Special Note
Item will be available for pick up at the Ossining Public Library (53 Croton Avenue) on Saturday, May 16th from 2:00-4:00 PM and Wednesday, May 20th from 7:00-8:30PM.
If item needs to be shipped, actual shipping cost will be billed to the winning bidder.
