Item Description
Maine's Senator Angus King has generously donated to the Maine Irish Heritage Center's auction a very special US flag - "Old Glory" that has flown over the U.S. capitol building. With Memorial Day around the corner, and July 4th just behind, treat yourself to a US flag with pedigree? This new, 100% cotton, 3' x 5' Made-In-The-US American flag is the perfect gift for FATHER's DAY, (especially to the new father) so his family can fly it proudly for years to come. Add this collectors' item to all your patriotic celebrations. Certificate of authenticity included and history/care guidelines.
The Capitol Flag Program began in 1937 when a Member of Congress requested a flag that had flown over the Capitol. Over the years the focus of the program gradually expanded to encompass the commemoration of national holidays and various special events, as well as to honor the work of groups such as schools and civic organizations. The Maine Irish Heritage Center is proud to offer this keepsake. Will be shipped to winner.
