Item Description

The winner would receive 2 tickets to all four performances.

Founded in 1972, Irish Arts Center is a New York-based arts and cultural center dedicated to projecting a dynamic image of Ireland and Irish America for the 21st century, building community with artists and audiences of all backgrounds, forging and strengthening cross-cultural partnerships, and preserving the evolving stories and traditions of Irish culture for generations to come.

For two weeks in September, we will present a solo show by one of Ireland’s top comic actors, Pat Shortt, a multi-award winning Irish film, TV, and theatre star who recently received rave reviews on Broadway for his role in The Cripple of Inishmaan. In his new comedy, Selfie, Pat pushes the storytelling form to include the audience as mourners as the theatre transforms into an Irish funeral, an important part of Irish tradition.

In October, we will present a three-week run of Underneath, written/performed by award-winning Pat Kinevane.

In November, IAC and Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) will host the contemporary Irish theatre company, Brokentalkers, for a 3-week residency (November 2-20), giving the company space and technical support to develop a new work. There will be one mid-residency workshop showing.

With Baryshnikov Arts Center, we will present a late spring 3-week run of Corn Exchange’s Girl Is a Half-Formed Thing, (5 stars -The Guardian).
